As part of its CSR initiative and commitment to sustainable development, Navratna CPSE National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has extended a financial contribution of ₹10.10 Crore to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College & Hospital, Koraput.

On behalf of the Company, the cheque was presented by Niranjan Samal, Executive Director (M&R), NALCO to V. Keerthi Vasan, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Koraput in the presence of Asutosh Rath, Executive Director (H&A), NALCO and Prof (Dr) Susanta Kumar Sahu, Superintendent cum Dean & Principal, SLN Medical College & Hospital, at the Koraput Collectorate, today.

This financial assistance, provided through NALCO’s CSR arm – Nalco Foundation, will be used to procure essential and advanced medical instruments, equipment, and other resources to improve patient care across various hospital departments.

Worth mentioning that Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College & Hospital plays a pivotal role in providing healthcare services to the people of Koraput district, especially to marginalized tribal communities.

NALCO’s contribution is expected to significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity, improving healthcare accessibility for these vulnerable groups who face geographical and resource-based barriers to medical care.

In addition to this initiative, NALCO has been prioritizing healthcare in the region through its various ongoing CSR programs. Notably, in the Damanjodi sector, where the Company’s Mining and Refinery complex is located, NALCO operates mobile healthcare units that provide basic healthcare services to 163 inaccessible peripheral villages and adjacent hamlets. Similarly, in the Pottangi sector, NALCO’s mobile healthcare units cater to residents in 48 peripheral villages.
