New Delhi: Microsoft announced the integration of Apple’s iCloud and Microsoft Photos app in Windows 11 at its annual Surface event on Wednesday. Microsoft Inspire event also revealed an important feature at the end of the program — iCloud integration in the Windows 11 Photos app. Microsoft also announced the availability of Apple Music on Xbox. The music streaming service will arrive alongside the Apple TV app on Windows next year.
Microsoft rolled out an updated Photos app for Windows Insiders a few weeks ago with a new photo management experience. The new interface has simplified the process of browsing, finding and managing your collection of photos. Now add to all that the iCloud Photos integration that allows users to access any photos they’ve uploaded to that service from the Windows 11 Photos app itself.
Apple has also collaborated with Microsoft for some more integrations. It is revealed that Apple Music and Apple TV apps will be available in Microsoft Store next year. Apple Music is also available on Xbox consoles in addition to Spotify and Pandora music streaming apps.
The new partnership with Apple can help users get access to parts of their Apple ecosystem while using Windows devices. This is similar to how Microsoft has enabled messages, calls, and more via Android phones on Windows via the Phone Link app.
