Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continued their winning streak in the TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 with a commanding eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 4 at the BCA Stadium.
Captain Smriti Mandhana led RCB to success with an impressive 81 runs off 47 balls, marking her first half-century of the season and her fastest fifty in the tournament, achieved in just 27 deliveries. Danii Wyatt-Hodge provided solid support with 42 runs off 33 balls.
Earlier, Mandhana won the toss and elected to field. RCB’s bowlers excelled, with Renuka Singh Thakur (3-23) and Georgia Wareham (3-25) playing pivotal roles in restricting DC to 141 runs. DC’s batting efforts were led by Jemimah Rodrigues, who scored 34 runs, but the team struggled to build momentum.
RCB’s chase was swift and effective, reaching the target of 142 in just 16.2 overs. Mandhana and Wyatt-Hodge’s 107-run opening partnership set the foundation for the victory. Mandhana’s aggressive batting included 10 fours and three sixes, making her the standout performer of the match.
In what was a tough fielding day for DC, Rodrigues managed to catch Wyatt-Hodge, offering a brief respite. However, Mandhana’s dominance ensured RCB’s victory, with Richa Ghosh finishing the game with a six.
RCB’s win sees them off to a strong start in the TATA WPL 2025, showcasing a balanced performance in both batting and bowling departments.
