Sundargarh: Police have recovered the bodies of a man and his niece near a pond at Kapanda village under Lahunipara police limits of Sundargarh district on Friday.
The deceased persons have been identified as Jogendra Kisan and Jayatri Kisan.
According to reports, the matter came to the fore after some locals spotted the bodies lying near the pond and immediately informed the police about the same.
On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the bodies for post-mortem.
Though the exact reason behind their death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that they committed suicide by consuming pesticides.
Further investigation is underway in this regard.
