A shocking murder took place in Jarlakani village under Deogaon police limits in Bolangir district, where a man killed his wife with an axe following a domestic dispute.
According to reports, the couple had a heated quarrel that escalated into violence. In a fit of rage, the husband attacked his wife with the axe, killing her inside their house. The body remained lying at the scene until police arrived.
Soon after the murder, enraged family members assaulted the accused husband. He sustained serious injuries and remained under the control of relatives until police intervention.
Police reached the spot and began an investigation. Officers seized the body and sent it for a post‑mortem. They also arrested the accused and started interrogation.
