Khariar police in Nuapada district intercepted a major cannabis smuggling attempt and seized 20.495 kilograms of ganja from two individuals at Badadohel Chhak.
Acting on a tip-off, police reached the location where the suspects were waiting for a bus and apprehended them with the contraband.
The estimated market value of the seized ganja is Rs 1.5 lakh. According to SDPO Upendra Pradhan, further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and destination links. A press briefing was held at Khariar police station, where Officer-in-Charge Dilip Kumar Sahu confirmed the arrests.
