Los Angeles: Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James scripted history as he become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer on Tuesday.
James broke the all-time NBA record in the third quarter of Los Angeles Lakers’ match against Oklahoma City after surpassing Abdul-Jabbar’s tally of 38,387 points.
The 38-year-old surpassed Abdul-Jabbar’s mark with a step-back fadeaway jumper from the foul line over the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kenrich Williams with 10.9 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
Soon after achieving the feat, the game was paused for an on-court ceremony with Abdul-Jabbar and NBA commissioner Adam Silver.
