Lucknow: The autopsy report of four farmers who died in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri revealed that the farmers died due to shock, excessive bleeding and hemorrhage and that no bullet injury was found.
Eight people lost their lives in the violence that erupted during the farmers’ protest in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The farmers had assembled to protest Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s visit to Banbirpur.
The farmers’ bodies claimed that four farmers identified as Nakshatra Singh, Daljeet Singh, Lavepreet Singh and Gurvinder Singh died as vehicles mowed the protesters down on the Tikunia-Banbirpur road.
Four other deaths were reported from the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) camp. They were travelling in a car and were allegedly dragged out of the car and lynched by the protesters.
From the BJP camp, Shubham Mishra died due to an attack on BJP supporters. His body had multiple injuries.
Hariom Mishra’s death was caused due to thrashing by sticks and his body had multiple injury marks. He also died due to shock and hemorrhage.
Shyamsundar Nishad also died due to thrashing by sticks and dragging.
