Popular online educator Khan Sir celebrated Raksha Bandhan 2025 in a unique way as nearly 15,000 female students tied rakhis on his wrist, a gesture he described as a blessing in today’s times.
In a video shared on Instagram on August 9, the Patna-based tutor said the sheer weight of the rakhis made it difficult to lift his arm. “Iss kalyug mein hum itne saubhagyashali hai (I am so fortunate to have such an experience in today’s day and age),” he remarked, thanking his students for their affection.
The video has garnered over 8 million views in less than 24 hours, with Khan Sir noting that the gesture transcended barriers of caste, religion, and region. “There can’t be a better festival than Raksha Bandhan,” he said, adding that he considers his female students as sisters.
Raksha Bandhan, celebrated this year on August 9, is a festival honouring the sibling bond, where sisters tie a sacred thread on their brothers’ wrists in exchange of a pledge of protection.
