Thiruvananthapuram: In order to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Kerala government on Thursday announced complete lockdown across the state on July 31 and August 1.
Amid the surge in cases, the central government has sent a six-member team from the National Centre for Disease Control to the state.
“As a large number of Covid cases are still being reported in Kerala, the team will aid the state’s ongoing efforts in Covid management,” Mr Mandaviya said in a tweet.

Following this, the Kerala govt has revised COVID-19 guidelines, allowing photo studios to open on permitted dates in the wake of requirements for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Shops selling seeds and fertilisers were also put under essential services in a recent government direction.
The price section of the Economics and Statistics department also included an essential category, so that such shops can open on all days with the required number of staff.
