Kerala: A 30-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, who broke the piggy bank of his son to buy the lottery ticket, won the Rs 25 crore Onam bumper lottery in Kerela on Sunday.
The winner has been identified as Anoop from Sreevaraham in Thiruvanathapuram.
According to reports, the winning number was selected by state finance minister K N Balagopal in a lucky draw function held earlier in the day at Gorky Bhavan in the capital.
Notably, the government-run lottery is a big hit in the state throughout the year and one of the significant non-tax revenue earners besides liquor.
