Bengaluru: Karnataka Congress working president R Dhruvanarayana died of cardiac arrest on Saturday. He was 61.
According to reports, Dhruvanarayana complained of chest pain following which he was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, he succumbed.
Dhruvanarayana was a member of the 15 and 16th Lok Sabha. He represented the Chamarajanagar constituency of Karnataka. He started his political journey as a student leader.
In 1983, he joined Congress as a Party Worker.
In 1984, Dhruvanarayana became the President of the Students Union of Agriculture College in Bengaluru Hebbal. In 2004, he won the state assembly elections from Santhermarahalli Constituency. In 2019, Dhruvanarayan lost to Srinivasa Prasad in the 17th Lok Sabha elections.
