Bengaluru: The Karnataka Legislative Assembly has adopted a resolution opposing the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Introduced by Sharan Prakash Patil, the Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development, the resolution advocates for a student assessment method based on the state’s Common Entrance Test (CET) system.
BJP legislators voiced their dissent during the debate. Nevertheless, the assembly passed the resolution with little regard for the opposing viewpoints.
This move signifies a significant change in Karnataka’s stance on medical education admissions, seeking to supplant NEET with a methodology that better fits the state’s academic structure.
