Former Revenue Inspector of Karlamunda Tahasil in Kalahandi district has been dismissed from government service in a bribery case.
The RI has been identified as Ramesh Chandra Barad, Former Revenue Inspector (RI), Karlamunda Tahasil in Kalahandi district, A/p-RI, Narla Tahasil, Dist-Kalahandi.
Barad was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case vide Koraput Vigilance PS Case No.12 dated
22.04.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act,2018 for demanding and taking a bribe from a complainant to demarcate his land, was dismissed from Govt. service as per provision of OCS(CCA) Rules,1962 with effect from 18.02.2025 by the competent authority following his conviction by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna in bribery case.
Barad was convicted by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna on 31.01.2025 and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and to pay a fine of Rs 20,000.
Following the conviction of Ramesh Chandra Barad, Odisha Vigilance communicated in this regard to the competent authority to take appropriate action against him. Accordingly, Barad was dismissed
from Govt. Service by the competent authority for bribery.
