The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended Justice Harish Tandon for the position of Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.
This decision follows the retirement of Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh on January 19, 2025.
Justice Tandon, who has served as a judge at Calcutta High Court since April 2010, is recognized for his extensive experience in dispensing justice and his high level of integrity.
His appointment is part of the judicial reshuffling process in India, where the collegium system, which includes the Chief Justice of India and senior Supreme Court judges, recommends high court chief justices based on seniority and merit.
On 17-1-2025, the Ministry of Law and Justice appointed Justice Arindam Sinha, Judge of the Orissa High Court, as Acting Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
