The Commissionerate Police busted a job fraud racket by arresting three persons including a woman for duping many people by opening a fake consultancy firm in Bhubaneswar.
As per police, the arrested persons are identified as Tamanna alias Jajnaseni Kar (27) of Jajpur Alakund, Priya alias Jayakrushna Dash (28) of Jajpur Town, and Prince alias Jeevan Deep Nandi of Kalahandi Sadar. Incriminating documents, mobile phones, a laptop, a car, a bike and a fake appointment letter were seized from them, the police said.
The accused persons had been running a consultancy firm “Success Deal” in front of BJEM School at Badagada, Bhubaneswar and were using social networking sites to trap job seekers by luring them with govt jobs including in Railways.
While searching for jobs, the complainant came across a post and contacted the firm. Accused Priya, who attended the call, later introduced the complainant to Jajnaseni Kar identifying her as Tamanna Manali- the owner of the consultancy firm and Suresh Kumar Rao the Area Manager. The trio assured the complainant of a Group-D job in Mancheswar Railway Workshop and demanded Rs 3 lakh.
The scamsters extracted about Rs 55,000 from him in different phases including UPI transactions and cash. They even took the complainant to a railway hospital for a health checkup to gain his confidence. Later, the accused persons sent a fake joining letter to the complainant through speed post.
Further, it came to light that the accused persons were dishonestly and fraudulently cheated lakhs of rupees from other job aspirants in the same way. Following a complaint, the trio was arrested.
During the investigation, they confessed to their crimes and admitted that they along with one Ajay Mallick had defrauded many job aspirants by giving them fake joining letters in Group D post in Indian Railway and received lakhs.
