Jharsuguda: Jharsuguda police have collected more than 2 lakhs as fine from people for not using masks and violating traffic rules in the district today.
Reportedly, in the presence of Jharsuguda Sub Collector Shiba Toppo, Belpahar police carried out checking near the railway crossing and issued 47 e-challan to traffic violators, and collected fine of Rs 32,000.
Similarly, Rs 7,000 penalty was collected from 12 people caught without masks. On the other hand, Rs 5,000 from a tractor carrying sand illegally, and Rs 10,000 was imposed on two tractors illegally carrying soil and stones.
Around 20 e- challans along with Rs 700 has been collected from each violator in Sadar police area. Similarly, Gandhi Chowk outpost police collected Rs 85,500 from 200 people who violated traffic rules during checking and Rs 12,600 from people who did not wear masks.
Meanwhile, the Town police have issued 37 e-challan and collected Rs 13,000 from traffic violators. This apart, Badamal police have collected Rs 17,000 fine from 35 traffic violators Rs 5,000 from 25 people caught without mask.
