Jannik Sinner captured his second consecutive ATP Finals crown by defeating world No.1 Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(4), 7-5 in Turin.
Both players entered the final unbeaten, but Sinner rose to the occasion before a roaring home crowd. He broke Alcaraz in the final game and celebrated his victory, which extended his indoor hardcourt winning streak to 30 matches and earned him a record $5.07 million.
Despite the triumph, Sinner finished the season ranked just behind Alcaraz, who secured the year-end No.1 spot. The 2025 season showcased their fierce rivalry, with both reaching all four Grand Slam finals. Alcaraz won Roland Garros and the US Open, defeating Sinner in both, but the Italian delivered when it mattered most in Turin.
Sinner displayed resilience in high-pressure moments. He saved the only break point of the first set and edged out Alcaraz in a tense tiebreak with precise shot-making. Although his serve faltered at times, he managed crucial points effectively, especially in the closing stages.
The match featured dramatic interruptions, including a 10-minute pause due to a medical emergency in the stands and a medical timeout taken by Alcaraz at 5-4. Sinner remained composed, rallying to claim the first set. In the second, Alcaraz broke early, but Sinner levelled at 3-3 and seized control. He broke Alcaraz when the Spaniard served to stay in the match, closing out the contest in straight sets.
Tactically, both players attacked from the baseline, but Sinner’s nerve under pressure proved decisive. His victory capped the finest season of his career, highlighted by appearances in all four Grand Slam finals and two major titles.
