Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the Jajpur district festival ‘Jajati-2025’ today and launched projects totalling approximately Rs 1,000 crore.

A total of 83 projects, valued at Rs 829.76 crore, were inaugurated in Jajpur, while the foundation stone was laid for 77 projects worth Rs 170 crore. These projects encompass various sectors, including health, education, agriculture, water resources, electricity, transportation, roads, bridges, and canals, as well as infrastructure and tourism initiatives.

Among the significant projects, the Byas Sarovar and Town Hall were inaugurated in Byas Nagar at a cost of about Rs 78 crore. The foundation stone for a new nursing college in Jajpur was also laid.

Additionally, the Jajati Keshari Medical College and Hospital has been opened in Jajpur district to enhance health services. During the inauguration, the Chief Minister announced that the name of the institution has been changed to ‘Maharaja Jajati Keshari Medical College and Hospital,’ honouring the legacy of Maharaja Jajati Keshari.

The medical college has been allocated 50 seats for its first year, with plans to increase this number to 100 in the next academic year, contingent upon the development of necessary infrastructure.
