A powerful explosion rocked a book warehouse near Janata Kothi late last night, leaving three people critically injured and causing extensive property damage.

The incident, which occurred around midnight, left locals in shock as they rushed to the site, rescuing the injured and alerting authorities. The victims were initially taken to the Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital before being shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment due to their worsening condition.

Fire services from Balikuda acted swiftly to extinguish the flames, preventing further destruction. The cause of the explosion remains unclear, with investigations currently underway. Authorities are assessing the structural integrity of nearby buildings impacted by the intense blast.

This tragedy underscores the importance of stringent safety measures in storage facilities, and the community awaits answers regarding the cause of this devastating incident.
