J-Hope, also known as Hobi, has released his much-awaited single Killin’ It Girl, the final track in his 2025 trilogy. While the drop created major buzz online, it has sparked a mix of reactions among fans and critics alike.
Shortly after the release, the BTS ARMY was quick to share their thoughts. While many praised the visuals and choreography, some expressed disappointment with the song’s musical direction. One user wrote, “I wanna talk about how smooth and suave Killin’ It Girl’s choreography is because goddamn???!!!??”
On the other hand, Reddit user @ContentGarage2185 offered a more critical take: “As a song, it’s the least favorite out of the trio. I expected it to be a lot punchier—it’s vibey and repetitive instead. But holyyy hell, the visuals and choreography go crazy. The performance today is gonna be awesome. Love to see his sexier side.”
Despite the mixed musical reviews, the single has made waves on YouTube. According to BTS Charts Daily, the music video became the fastest MV by a K-pop act to hit 1 million views in 2025, achieving the milestone in just 43 minutes—surpassing Jennie’s Like (1 hour 22 minutes).
Killin’ It Girl is a hip-hop collaboration with American rapper GloRilla, marking J-Hope’s first team-up with the U.S. artist. The track concludes his trilogy of singles released during his ongoing world tour, Hope on the Stage.
The Hope on the Stage tour, which supports J-Hope’s debut studio album, kicked off on February 28, 2025, in Seoul and will wrap up in Goyang on June 14. The concert is divided into five thematic segments: Ambition, Dream, Expectations, Fantasy, and Wish.
For those unfamiliar, J-Hope is a rapper, singer-songwriter, dancer, and producer who debuted with BTS under Big Hit Entertainment in 2013.
