The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has once again showcased its commitment to sustainable space practices with the successful atmospheric re-entry of POEM-4, the specially configured upper stage of PSLV-C60.
This accomplishment marks yet another milestone in ISRO’s Debris Free Space Mission (DFSM).
POEM-4, which hosted 24 payloads during its mission life, provided valuable scientific data while in orbit. Closely tracked by ISRO’s radar facilities and the United States Space Command (USSPACECOM), its re-entry was meticulously managed.
On April 4, 2025, at 08:03 IST, POEM-4 safely re-entered Earth’s atmosphere and impacted the Indian Ocean. This achievement underscores ISRO’s dedication to minimizing space debris and ensuring the sustainability of the outer space environment.
