Bargarh: An Odia scientist, hailing from the Ambabhona block of Bargarh, working at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) died due to drowning here on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Niharranjan Pradhan, a native of Jharapali village.
The mishap occured when Pradhan was bathing in a small pond in his village.
Later, some locals fished him out and rushed him to a nearby hospital where the attending doctors pronounced him dead.
A pall of gloom descended on the village following the death of the young and bright scientist.
Pradhan graduated from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology in 2020, and had joined ISRO in January, 2021 at Trivandrum.
