Gujarat Titans (GT) delivered a commanding all-round performance to seal a 38-run victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 51 of IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Opting to bat first, GT’s top order displayed remarkable aggression and consistency. Sai Sudharsan set the foundation with a quickfire 48 off 23 balls, before Shubman Gill played a captain’s knock of 76 from just 38 deliveries, striking boundaries at will. England’s Jos Buttler complemented the attack, smashing 64 off 37 balls, propelling GT to a mammoth total of 224/6.

SRH’s bowling unit struggled to contain GT’s explosive batting. Jaydev Unadkat was the pick of their bowlers, grabbing three wickets in the death overs to prevent further damage.

Chasing 225, SRH needed a strong start, and Abhishek Sharma stepped up, blasting 74 off 41 balls, including 4 fours and 6 sixes. However, SRH’s middle order faltered under pressure, failing to provide the necessary support.

GT’s disciplined bowling, led by Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj, ensured SRH couldn’t build momentum. Both bowlers scalped two wickets each, while Gerald Coetzee and Ishant Sharma picked up key dismissals. SRH eventually settled at 186/6, falling significantly short of the target.

SRH’s skipper Pat Cummins reflected on missed opportunities, stating, “We gave away 20-30 extra runs and could have held onto some crucial catches. Abhishek batted brilliantly, but we were left with too much to do in the end.”

With this victory, GT has secured second place in the points table, strengthening their playoff hopes.
