The event is scheduled to begin at 10 AM PT and will be hosted at Apple Park, the company’s headquarters in San Francisco.
How to watch livestream?
Apple is ready to announce its new series of hardware in the global market. For tech enthusiasts in India, the launch event will take place at 10.30 PM. The launch will be streamed live on Apple’s official YouTube channel, and on the company’s India website. At the event, Apple will announce four new iPhones, including the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
What to expect?
iPhone 16 series: Apple continues its tradition of offering four models in the iPhone 16 lineup: iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max. Each device is powered by the new A18 Pro chipset, delivering high-performance capabilities across the board, but each model brings its own unique features.
The base models of the series are expected to bring a change in the design language. It is speculated that these will be similar to the iPhone X back panel, with a vertical camera set up on a capsule shaped module. The camera system mirrors that of the iPhone 15, featuring a 48-megapixel primary sensor with 2x optical zoom, making it a solid choice for everyday users.
The iPhone 16 Plus is expected to cater individuals who desire a more immersive experience, boasting a larger screen ideal for activities like streaming and gaming. Although it shares several key features with the standard model, such as the advanced camera system, its distinguishing characteristic is its expansive display.
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max offer the most advanced features in the lineup, including a significant camera upgrade. The ultra-wide lens jumps from 12-megapixel to 48-megapixel, offering better photo quality. Additionally, battery life is expected to improve significantly, allowing users to enjoy more usage time.
Apple Watch Series 10: The upcoming wearable is rumoured to feature a slim design with thinner bezels. Reports suggest that the current 41mm model may expand to 45mm, while the 45mm version could increase to 49mm, offering users more screen space and a more immersive experience.
It’s health features are also tipped to see a substantial improvement. Speculation points to the introduction of blood pressure monitoring and sleep apnoea detection, thanks to advanced sleep and breathing analysis.
AirPods 4: Apple’s upcoming AirPods 4 is expected to consolidate the 2nd and 3rd generation models, offering two variants: a budget-friendly option replacing AirPods 2 and a mid-range model replacing AirPods 3. According to the rumours, the main distinction between the two will be the presence of active noise cancellation in the higher-end model, while both will share a similar design.
Both AirPods 4 models are expected to transition to USB-C. Following Apple’s previous differentiation strategy, the entry-level version will likely have wired charging only and the mid-tier model will offer wireless charging.
Apple Intelligence
During WWDC 2024, Apple revealed the Apple Intelligence to th world. At that time, the company had announced that Apple Intelligence support will be “available for free” on the new iPhone 16 series and the existing iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPads and Macs with M1 and later. But the reports have suggested that Apple has plans to switch it to subscription mode after sometime. That being said, it is also noteworthy that Apple Intelligence is unlikely to come with the iPhone 16 series today. The company is rumoured to be working on it even now and will release the features in another update, iOS 18.1.
Apple Intelligence is expected to bring several advanced features. On top of all, an improved Siri is waiting for the users on the other end. Apple says it will be the beginning of a “new era for Siri.” Apple has said AI enhancements will make Siri more natural, relevant, and personalised.
