: Infosys clarified that freshers undergo foundational training at its Mysuru campus and must pass an internal assessment to continue working with the company. This assessment process has been in place for over two decades.
Freshers are given three attempts to clear the assessment. If they fail, they will not be able to continue with the organization, as specified in their contract.
The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) condemned Infosys for its handling of layoffs, reporting that around 700 trainee employees were laid off for failing to meet the minimum qualifying requirements.
According to several employees, around 400 individuals were called in batches and issued ultimatum letters. The employees claimed that bouncers and security personnel were deployed to intimidate them and prevent documentation of the incident.
NITES is filing an official complaint to the Labour Ministry of India, urging the government to intervene and address the matter urgently.
