Haryana Police have arrested 33-year-old travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra, known for her YouTube channel Travel With Jo, on charges of espionage.
Malhotra, who had visited Pakistan twice since 2023, was allegedly involved in leaking sensitive Indian military information to Pakistani intelligence officials.
Authorities claim Malhotra came into contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim, an official at the Pakistan High Commission, during her visa application process. Her interactions reportedly led to confidential exchanges via encrypted messaging platforms.
Officials state Malhotra communicated extensively with Pakistani security personnel and continued sharing classified information after returning to India. She allegedly stored a contact under a fake name to evade detection. Malhotra is one of six individuals arrested for similar charges, including a student and a security guard from Punjab and Haryana.
Despite her arrest, Malhotra’s YouTube account remains active, showcasing her journeys to Pakistan. In a video uploaded in March, she described crossing the Attari-Wagah border as a “memorable moment” while detailing currency exchanges and travel experiences. Other posts feature food tours and visits to Hindu temples in Pakistan.
Authorities are now examining digital footprints linked to Malhotra and her associates as investigations continue.
