The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that the Indian women’s cricket team will play a five‑match T20I series against Sri Lanka from December 21 to 30.
The matches will take place in Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram, marking India’s first international assignment after their World Cup‑winning campaign earlier in November.
Originally, India was scheduled to host Bangladesh during the same period. However, political tensions between the two countries led to the postponement of that series.
Sri Lanka will return to India for a women’s bilateral T20I series for the first time since 2016, when India had secured a clean sweep 3‑0. The upcoming series will serve as crucial preparation for the Women in Blue before the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 season and their multi‑format tour of Australia in February‑March.
