India produced a dominant performance at the BOXAM Elite International 2026 in La Nucia, Alicante, claiming nine gold medals on the final day.

Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain and former Youth World Champion Arundhati Choudhary spearheaded the campaign, while Naina capped off the women’s sweep with a composed victory in the 80kg category.

India’s women boxers set the tone by winning all seven finals they contested. Manju Rani (48kg) and Nitu (51kg) registered emphatic 5:0 wins against Spanish opponents. Poonam (54kg) edged compatriot Preeti in an all-Indian final. Priya (60kg) and Arundhati (70kg) defeated Ukrainian rivals with commanding 5:0 scores. Lovlina displayed her trademark control in the 75kg bout against England’s Mary-Kate Smith, winning 4:1. Naina closed the campaign with a 4:1 win over Ukraine’s Raisa Piskun.

In the men’s finals, Sachin (60kg) edged Canada’s Keoma-Ali Al Ahmadieh 3:2, while Akash (75kg) defeated Kazakhstan’s Aman Konsbekov 3:2. Deepak (70kg) and Ankush (80kg) settled for silver after tough contests against Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

India finished as the most successful nation at BOXAM Elite 2026, securing nine golds, three silvers, and seven bronze medals. BFI President Ajay Singh praised the team’s performance, noting that the exposure against strong international opposition will boost preparations for a demanding year ahead.

Women’s head coach Santiago Nieva hailed the discipline and confidence shown by the boxers, emphasising that winning all seven women’s finals reflects the depth of India’s programme.
