South Africa posted a formidable total of 187/7 in their innings against India in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, the Proteas recovered from early setbacks thanks to a blistering 63 from David Miller and a composed 45 from Dewald Brevis.

The duo stitched together a crucial 97-run partnership that steadied the innings after India’s bowlers struck early. Tristan Stubbs added late fireworks with an unbeaten 44 off 24 balls, ensuring South Africa crossed the 180-mark.

For India, Jasprit Bumrah was the standout performer, delivering a masterclass with figures of 3/15 in his four overs. Arshdeep Singh chipped in with two wickets, while Shivam Dube and Varun Chakaravarthy picked up one apiece.

With South Africa setting a target of 188, India now faces a stiff challenge under lights in Ahmedabad. The chase promises high drama as Rohit Sharma’s men look to outgun the Proteas in this crucial World Cup encounter.
