In a stellar display of batting prowess, Karun Nair notched up a double century for India A against England Lions in the first unofficial Test in Canterbury.
This remarkable innings marks the fourth time the Indian batter has scored 200 or more runs in First-Class cricket.
Nair, who holds a triple-century record in Test cricket, was in sublime touch as he manoeuvred his way past the England Lions’ bowling attack. His highest First-Class score remains an astonishing 328 for Karnataka against Tamil Nadu in the 2015/16 season.
With this latest feat, Nair also secured his second double century on English soil, having previously scored an unbeaten 202 for Northampton against Glamorgan in 2024. His commanding performance reaffirms his ability to excel in challenging conditions, making him a key prospect for India’s red-ball setup.
