New Delhi: Star batter Shreyas Iyer will take no further part in the remainder of the 4th and final Test in Ahmedabad against Australia, confirmed the Indian cricket board (BCCI) on Monday.
As per reports, Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the action on the final day after picking up a back injury.
Shreyas Iyer did not bat for India in their first innings after picking up a back injury scare. The Mumbai batter was sent for scans after he complained of back pain after the end of Saturday’s play at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
“Shreyas Iyer will take no further part in this Test. A specialist opinion will be sought,” the BCCI said in a statement on Monday.
Notably, Iyer had only returned from an injury layoff for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
