The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts dense fog in parts of Odisha and warns residents to remain cautious as winter conditions intensify.
On Sunday, the IMD expects dense fog at one or two places in Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Koraput districts. Moreover, the regional office predicts cold wave conditions in isolated pockets of Jharsuguda and Angul districts on December 7.
Officials urge residents to take necessary precautions as the cold wave returns to several regions. In addition, they advise vulnerable groups, including the elderly and children, to stay warm and avoid prolonged exposure to chilly conditions.
Furthermore, the IMD cautions that dense fog will reduce visibility and create risks for road travel. Therefore, officials advise drivers to exercise extra care, use fog lights, and avoid speeding during early morning and late evening hours.
Looking ahead, the IMD indicates that on Monday, December 8, dense fog will likely occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Koraput districts.
