The International Cricket Council postponed six matches of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 scheduled in Nepal due to escalating Iran-Israel tensions and travel disruptions.
Matches Affected
The series was set to begin on March 10 at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kathmandu. Nepal, Oman, and the UAE were scheduled to play six ODIs between March 10 and March 20. Security concerns and suspended air routes made it impossible for teams to travel, forcing the postponement.
Nepal Cricket Association Statement
On March 4, the Nepal Cricket Association announced the postponement through social media. The board confirmed that all matches involving Nepal, Oman, and the UAE are postponed until further notice. The ICC and respective boards will finalise new dates soon.

World Cup League 2 plays a crucial role in the qualification process for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027. Eight teams compete over three years, with the top four advancing to the Qualifier Round. Each match carries significant weight in determining qualification chances.
Next Round in Namibia
While Nepal’s fixtures remain postponed, the next round of League 2 will begin on April 2 in Windhoek, Namibia. Scotland, Oman, and Namibia will compete in this leg. The United States currently leads the points table and looks strong for qualification.
