The Indian Air Force (IAF) will organise a large-scale Agniveer Vayu recruitment rally in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district from August 27 to September 4, 2025, under the Central Government’s Agnipath scheme.
The rally will be held at Baripada Stadium (Chhau Padia), Bhanjapur and will draw candidates from 12 states across eastern and northeastern India, including Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, and all northeastern states, as well as Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
Mayurbhanj District Collector Hemakanta Say confirmed that local tribal youth would also get the opportunity to participate. The initiative aims to attract dynamic young men and women for short-term service in the armed forces, with the potential to transition to permanent roles after their four-year tenure.
Selection Process
The recruitment process will be conducted in multiple phases:

Physical Fitness Test (PFT-I & II)

Written Test (45 minutes, objective-type, bilingual in English & Hindi; 20 English questions based on CBSE 10+2 syllabus, 30 questions from Reasoning and General Awareness)

Adaptability Test-I & II

Medical Examination (to be held in September at designated Air Force hospitals)
Depending on logistics, all tests will either be completed in a single day or over two days.
Eligibility Criteria

Date of Birth: Candidates must be born between January 1, 2005, and July 1, 2008.

Educational Qualifications:

Non-science stream: 10+2 or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate and 50% in English.

Vocational course: Two-year course with same marks criteria.

Diploma holders: Three-year engineering diploma with 50% aggregate and 50% in English.

Local Coordination and Registration
A preparatory meeting chaired by the District Collector was held at the Mahatma Gandhi Conference Hall in Mayurbhanj. Group Captain Sanjay Pattnaik, Commanding Officer of the 9 Airmen Selection Centre, Bhubaneswar, briefed officials on logistical arrangements and stressed the need for coordinated efforts between the district administration and the IAF.
The rally is part of the Agniveervayu Intake 01/2026 recruitment cycle. Applications close on September 14, 2025, for this intake, while the Intake 02/2026 registration deadline is August 4, 2025.
