Jeypore: Police here have seized a huge consignment of ganja from a vegetable-laden truck near Patrapur Bridge under Sadar Police Station in Koraput district.
Two peddlers were also arrested in connection with the case. They have been identified as Dillip Kumar Ray (33) and Manoj Paswan (40).
Acting on the direction of officer in-charge of Jeypore Sadar police station, A Mahakud, a team was formed and the vehicle was intercepted near Patrapur Bridge.
The team led by Mahakud and the SI of the police station, NK Toppo, conducted a search and recovered 494 kg of ganja from the vehicle.
The vehicle was searched in presence of Executive magistrate and other witnesses. Cash of Rs 1500 and as many as 10 pockets of cabbage and the vehicle was seized.
Sources said, the contraband was being transported to Ranchi.
