Sambalpur: The authorities of Hirakud dam on Thursday informed that the season’s first floodwater from the reservoir will be released into the River Mahanadi on July 28 as part of its dam management initiative.
The gates of the Hirakud dam will be opened at 9 am on Sunday to release excess floodwater, informed the dam’s In-charge Chief Engineer Sushil Behera.
As per official sources, the inflow of water into the Hirahud reservoir is 2,14,993 cusecs while the outflow is 35,635 cusecs.
