Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional centre today issued heat wave alert in several parts of Odisha.
According to the latest bulletin, “Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Khordha, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore in the next 24 hours.”
There will be no large change in Maximum temperature (Day temperature) during next 2-3 days in several parts of Odisha. However, the temperature will slightly fall thereafter by around 2 degrees in Coastal parts of the State, it added.
Apart from the heat wave, several parts of the State will experience light to moderate rain triggered by thunderstorm.

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 26.04.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 27.04.2021)
Light rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Yellow Warning(To be updated): Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.
Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 27.04.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 28.04.2021)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Keonjhar,Mayurbhanj, Angul, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.Yellow Warning(To be updated): Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at a one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Khordha and Dhenkanal.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam,Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Cuttack.
Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.04.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.04.2021)
Moderate rain or thundershower alert issued for the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur.
Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Gajapati.
