The Indian Navy’s Motor Car Rally Expedition on the East Coast, flagged off from INS Netaji Subhas, Kolkata, on March 3, reached Raj Bhavan, Bhubaneswar, where it was welcomed by Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati.
The rally spans approximately 3,800 km and will travel from Kolkata to Chennai, continue to Kanyakumari, and return to Chennai by March 21. Its primary goal is to enhance maritime awareness, engage with youth and civil society, and promote career opportunities in the Indian Navy, including the Agnipath Scheme.
Throughout the journey, the rally team will visit schools and colleges to inspire young people to join the Indian Navy and promote the Centre’s Naari Shakti initiative for women’s empowerment. Interactions with naval veterans and Veer Naris will also take place, updating them on the latest welfare policies of the government and the Navy.
During an interaction at Abhishek Hall, Raj Bhavan, Governor Dr. Kambhampati praised the expedition’s objective of raising awareness and encouraging youth to serve the nation through the Indian Navy. He shared his fond memories of the Navy and acknowledged its commitment to excellence and national security.
Lt. Cdr. Jubin John, a team member, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and highlighted that the rally will explore India’s rich maritime heritage by visiting historical naval sites and ancient trade route locations along the coast.
