Panic gripped Gurugram’s Sector 57 early Sunday morning after three masked men opened fire outside the residence of YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 winner Elvish Yadav. Police said the assailants discharged more than a dozen rounds before fleeing the spot.
The incident occurred around 5:30 am, when Yadav was away from his residence. His caretaker and some family members were inside the building at the time, but no injuries were reported.
Visuals shared by ANI showed shattered glass panes, a damaged ceiling, and bullet marks on the property. Police confirmed that bullets struck both the ground and first floors of the residence.
“More than a dozen rounds were fired. Elvish Yadav was not at his residence at the time of the firing,” said Sandeep Kumar, PRO of Gurugram Police, adding that an FIR will be filed based on the family’s complaint.
Forensic teams collected samples from the scene, and officials are reviewing CCTV footage to trace the attackers. “Legal proceedings are being initiated. A detailed investigation will proceed once the family files a formal complaint,” a senior officer said.
A relative told PTI that Yadav had not received any prior threats. Police, however, said that more than two dozen rounds may have been fired during the attack.
Meanwhile, Yadav continues to face trial in the snake venom case, where he has been accused of involvement in supplying snake venom for alleged recreational use at rave parties. Earlier this year, the Allahabad High Court rejected his plea to quash the chargesheet. His lawyers maintain that no contraband, snakes, or psychotropic substances were recovered from him.
For now, police have intensified security in the area and are pursuing leads to track down the shooters.
