A Google employee’s heartfelt post about meeting CEO Sundar Pichai has resonated widely on social media.

Tanushi Gupta, a Digital Marketing Strategist at Google, shared a video of her interaction with Pichai at the company’s Gurgaon office. The clip, posted on LinkedIn and later on Instagram, quickly gained traction online.

“A Dream Years in the Making”

In her LinkedIn post, Gupta described the meeting as an emotional milestone.

“There are some moments that don’t feel real even while you’re standing inside them. Yesterday, at our Google Gurgaon office, I shook hands with the person whose name I’ve written under ‘Role Model’ since I was a teenager. Sundar Pichai. And for a few seconds, time folded,” she wrote.

She reflected on how Pichai’s journey — from India to leading one of the world’s most influential technology companies — had inspired her since her school days.

Gupta candidly admitted she felt overwhelmed during the encounter, describing it as more than a professional milestone. She said it felt like a personal full-circle moment tied to years of admiration and hard work.

‘Corporate Fangirl Moment Unlocked’

Calling the experience “surreal” and “emotional,” Gupta described the handshake as symbolic of long-held aspirations.

“It was proof that the dreams you quietly protect protect you back. It felt like a full circle whisper from the universe saying, ‘Keep going,’” she wrote.

On Instagram, she captioned the same video: “Corporate fangirl moment unlocked. When we met our CEO.”

Social Media Reactions

The Instagram video has garnered over 259,000 views, with users flooding the comments section with congratulatory messages and personal anecdotes.

Some users praised her journey, while others shared similar experiences of meeting leaders they admire. One commenter described it as a “core memory unlocked,” echoing the emotional tone of her post.

Another user mentioned travelling long distances for a brief glimpse of Pichai during a public appearance at Bharat Mandapam, highlighting the admiration he commands among professionals and students alike.

Why the Moment Resonated Online

The post struck a chord because it reflected a relatable experience — meeting someone who shaped one’s aspirations. For many young professionals in technology, Pichai represents the possibility of global leadership rooted in Indian beginnings.

Gupta’s candid expression of admiration and gratitude transformed a brief interaction into a story of inspiration that continues to resonate across platforms.
