Ganjam: In view of the rising trend in COVID-19 infection, the Ganjam administration has decided to restrict the entry of devotees into all religious places in the district from tomorrow (April 22) till May 15.
According to a Tweet from the District Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange, devotees will not be allowed inside any religious institutions including Temples, Mosques, Gurudwaras & Churches.
A limited number of priests or servitors have been allowed to perform the rituals by strictly following COVID appropriate behaviour.

According to the fresh measures to contain COVID-19, the people have been advised not to move out of house unnecessarily, avoid visiting crowded places, sea beach, playground, and follow the COVID appropriate behaviour to break the chain on coronavirus transmission.
A total of 151 COVID-19 patients have been identified in Ganjam district on Wednesday. While the number of COVID-19 positive cases in the district is gradually increasing day by day, the district administration is taking every possible step including door-to-door screening to curb the infection rate.
