A full lockdown has been enforced in Jaisalmer following escalating tensions between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor.
The Jaisalmer district administration issued an urgent advisory urging residents to remain indoors, banning public gatherings, and suspending train services in key border areas.
The Indian Railways has cancelled several train services operating from Barmer and Jaisalmer, citing security concerns. Train movement at Jaisalmer station has been completely suspended, with additional restrictions in the border areas of Jammu and Punjab adjacent to Pakistan.
Residents reported finding projectile fragments in various locations, including Pokhran, Badoda village, sparking concerns over security. However, the Indian Army successfully neutralised incoming threats, assuring locals of their safety. In response to heightened tensions, Barmer has been placed on high red alert, with immediate restrictions on public movement.
Authorities are appealing for public cooperation in the wake of these security measures, emphasising the need for vigilance as the situation unfolds.
