Bhubaneswar: A fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over Andaman Sea and neighbourhood around November 13, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.
It is likely to move west northwestwards and become more marked during subsequent 48 hours, said the IMD.
The system is likely to move west-northwestwards and reach near north Tamilnadu coast by the early morning of November 11. In association with this, there would be a continuation of the ongoing active rain spell over Tamil Nadu till November 11, it added.
Under its Influence, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall is very likely over Kerala, south Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu during the next 5 days.
Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy falls is very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal during November 10 to 11 and over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh on November 11.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is also likely over Kerala & Mahe during November 10 to 11; over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh on November 10 and over Rayalaseema during November 10 to 11.
Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph likely to prevail over southeast Bay of Bengal on November 10, and 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph over southwest & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal and along & off Tamil Nadu & south Andhra Pradesh coasts on November 10-11.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into southeast Bay of Bengal; southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal and along & off Tamil Nadu & south Andhra Pradesh coasts during November 10-11.
