Casper Ruud, a two-time runner-up at Roland Garros, started his campaign with a commanding display against Spain’s Albert Ramos-Viñolas. Ruud cruised to a 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 win, moving confidently into the second round.
Meanwhile, the biggest upset of the day came as ninth-seeded Emma Navarro suffered a shocking first-round exit. Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro dismantled Navarro in a dominant performance, securing a swift victory, 6-0, 6-1.
