Four Odisha Players Named in India Squad for First-Ever Women’s Visually Impaired T20 World Cup

In a proud moment for Odisha, four cricketers from the state have been selected in India’s 16-member squad for the inaugural Women’s Visually Impaired T20 World Cup, to be held across India from November 11 to 25, 2025.


The selected players are:

  • Phula Soren – All-rounder

  • Basanti Hansda – All-rounder

  • Parbati Marandi – Wicketkeeper

  • Jamuna Rani Tudu – Bowler

Their inclusion ensures a strong representation for Odisha in what will be a historic campaign for women’s cricket.

Tournament Details

The Women’s Visually Impaired T20 World Cup will feature seven nations:

  • India (hosts)

  • Australia

  • England

  • Pakistan

  • Sri Lanka

  • United States

  • Nepal

The matches will be held in multiple venues across India, bringing global attention to a sport that highlights courage and perseverance.

Significance of the Event

This will be the first-ever edition of the Women’s Visually Impaired T20 World Cup, making it a landmark moment for women’s adaptive cricket. The Indian team, bolstered by Odisha’s contribution, will aim to set a benchmark by performing strongly in front of home crowds.

The announcement of the squad has created a wave of excitement among cricket fans and advocates of inclusive sports, as India looks to make history by clinching the title in its debut edition.
