Nayagarh: Police here on Sunday arrested four persons including two contract killers in connection with the death of a newlywed woman at Sarankul in the district on January 29.
While the identities of the arrested persons were not known immediately, police have claimed that the woman was killed by contract killers hired by her husband, identified as Akhi Mohapatra.
According to the case details, the victim, Sasmita was found hanging inside the house on January 29. Although it was suspected to be a suicide case, the post mortem report hinted at murder.
Later, Sarankul police launched a probe and initially zeroed in on the husband.
On interrogation, the accused husband revealed that he was into an extramarital affair following which he conspired to kill his wife in collusion with four of his aides.
Subsequently, Sarankul police nabbed the four accused persons.
