Malkangiri: In a major crackdown on gambling activities going during Kumar Purnima on Wednesday, Malkangiri police raided four gambling dens in the district and arrested 37 gamblers.
Following reliable inputs about gambling activities, a team of Orkel police station raided the gambling dens at three locations and apprehended the persons involved in the illegal game.
During the raid, 31 gamblers were arrested with the seizure of Rs 2,32,780 and 19 mobile phones, informed SDPO Anshuman Dwivedi in a press meet note today.
The Orkel police station has registered three separate cases in this regard, the press note added.
Similarly, a team led by Malkangiri police station IIC Ram Prasad Nag conducted a raid in the locality and seized Rs 14,000 with arrest six people involved in gambling.
