Former Kotpad MLA Chandrasekhar Majhi Joins BJD

Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader and former MLA of Kotpad in Koraput district, Chandrasekhar Majhi, joined Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in the presence of several senior leaders here today. Majhi joined the ruling party at a special event held here in the presence of senior leaders Pratap Deb, Pranab Prakash Das, Subash Singh, Ramesh Majhi and Rabi Nanda. Worth mentioning, Majhi had won Kotpad seat on Congress ticket in 2014 Assembly elections. However, he was defeated by BJD’s Padmini Dian in the 2019 elections.
