Panic gripped residents of a multi-storey building at Satya Vihar, Bhubaneswar, as a fire erupted earlier today, prompting swift action from the Fire Services department.
According to reports, the fire broke out in a three-storey building housing several tenant families. While preliminary reports point to either an electrical short circuit or an unattended diya (lamp) in the worship room as possible causes, authorities are yet to confirm the exact origin.
Firefighters from the Mancheswar unit rushed to the scene and successfully doused the flames before they could spread further.
Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported. However, the incident has raised concerns regarding fire safety protocols in densely populated residential zones across the city. An official inquiry is underway to assess damages and confirm the exact cause.
Authorities have urged property owners to conduct regular electrical inspections and ensure compliance with fire safety norms to prevent such mishaps.
